Bret’s Meatballs!

This is how we do meatballs in my family. We don’t have a written recipe, so you may want to experiment with the measurements to your liking. Cook your balls in your favorite red sauce or in some hearty tomato-based pasta fagioli (or pasta fazool) as we southern Italians say …


2/3 lb ground beef
2/3 lb ground veal
3-4 spicy Italian sausages
4-5 garlic cloves
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp oregano
2 tbsp basil
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp crushed red pepper
2/3 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
